“Not A Murder Story”  is brought by award-winning writer-director Ko Chen-nien, a Taiwanese crime thriller

Dong, a wannabe actor, finally gets the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fame and success but wakes up with a dead woman, Meng, beside him. Unable to piece together the previous night’s events, Dong is determined to hold onto it. He cleans up the scene and makes it look like a robbery gone wrong but unknowingly leaves traces of himself behind.

While the police search the apartment, all the residents have something to hide. The immigrant caretaker frequently argues with Meng, a peeping Tom at the massage shop is discovered, the seemingly kind and polite landlord is a wife beater, and the perfect family is quite dysfunctional. With everyone keeping long-held dark secrets, it becomes apparent that everyone has a motive for this murder.

About the Director

Chen-Nien Ko was born in Taiwan in 1982, She is a filmmaker and scriptwriter. Chen-Nien Ko is considered one of Taiwan’s most promising young female filmmakers, following her award-winning feature The Silent Forest, and series Close Your Eyes Before It’s Dark. Her award winning directorial debut feature is based on real events connected to sexual assault cases in a hearing-impaired school in Tainan.
