We are proud to release the news that the Irish children’s series Science Guy (Is Eolaí Mé) is an official nominee at Celtic Media Festival 2021 Children’s Programme selection, which is a virtual event from 7 -9 Sept.
Science Guy is an entertaining science series that offers an enjoyable, visual and funny insight into science and the environment, aimed at children from primary school. Each episode explores a different science theme, drawing on the Irish Primary School Curriculum, in an exciting and innovative way: presenter Peadar Ó Goill introduces each episode with the question of the day. Úna Ní Fhlatharta (Corp + Anam (Body and Soul) reports from various locations giving us a glimpse of places of interest. Assisted by reporter Caitríona Ní Chualáin and young guests in the studio, by visiting venues, setting up science experiments and getting to know the Scientist of the Day, we arrive at an answer to the question.
Celtic Media Festival was first held in 1980 and since then it has continued to support the various forms of media in the languages and cultures of the Celtic nations and regions. It is an itinerant festival, which has taken place in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man. The festival will take place from 7 to 9 September and will be held fully online, with a full programme of screenings, conferences, interviews and the traditional Torc Awards for Excellence.
